Mane joins Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after leaving Bayern Munich
Sadio Mane is joining forces with Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
The Senegalese star signaled the end of his one-year stay at Bayern Munich by officially joining Al-Nassr on Tuesday.
The two clubs struck a deal after Al-Nassr reportedly tabled an offer worth €37 million.
Mane has since put pen to paper on a two-year contract with a net annual salary of €40 million per year, according to CBS Sports' Ben Jacobs.
The 31-year-old scored 12 goals in 38 games in all competitions during a difficult debut season in Germany after his lucrative transfer from Liverpool last summer.
"We want to thank Sadio Mane for the past season," Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said.
"It certainly wasn’t an easy year for him, getting injured just before the World Cup. ... Because of his long lay-off, he also couldn't have the impact at FC Bayern that we all, and he himself, had hoped for.
"That's why we came to the joint decision that he'll begin a new chapter in his career and make a new start at a different club. We wish him all the best and lots of success for the challenges ahead at Al-Nassr."
He's the latest high-profile footballer to join Al-Nassr following Ronaldo's arrival in December after the 38-year-old's departure from Manchester United.
