Borussia Moenchengladbach get rare win on the road at Wolfsburg

Borussia Moenchengladbach halted Ralph Hasenhuettl's winning start at Wolfsburg, recovering from a goal down to win 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Germany international Ridle Baku scored his first league goal of the season as Wolfsburg got off to a perfect start inside seven minutes –- but that is as good as it got for the hosts.

Gladbach staged a second-half comeback, with Ko Itakura, Nathan Ngoumou and Rocco Reitz scoring the goals that kept the Foals in the safety of mid-table.

It is Gladbach's first away win since September in all competitions and leaves Wolfsburg with only one win since the turn of the year –- last weekend's 2-0 victory at Werder Bremen in Hasenhuettl's first game in charge.

Wolfsburg remain in 14th place, five points off the relegation play-off spot.

While Wolfsburg and Borussia Moenchengladbach are among the Bundesliga's underachievers, Sunday's earlier game saw the meeting of two of the league's overachievers. 

Eighth-placed Hoffenheim ended a run of three straight defeats with a 3-1 home victory over seventh-placed Augsburg, who came into the game on the back of a five-game unbeaten run.

Hoffenheim raced into a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes, with Wout Weghorst and Andrej Kramaric putting the hosts in charge.

Ermedin Demirovic halved Hoffenheim's advantage on the hour mark but Ihlas Bebou fired in a late third to rubber-stamp the win.
