Rotated Bayern held by Heidenheim before PSG clash

A heavily-rotated Bayern Munich were held to a 3-3 draw at home by last-placed Heidenheim on Saturday, days out from their return Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern were down 2-0 in the first half to goals from Budu Zivzivadze and Eren Dinkci, but a Leon Goretzka brace drew them level with half an hour remaining.

Zivzivadze scored again to put Heidenheim back in front before substitute Michael Olise scored in the 10th minute of stoppage time to snatch a point for the hosts.

Goalscorer Goretzka admitted Bayern's thoughts were already on Wednesday's clash with defending champions PSG, telling DAZN: "You can see how fired up everyone is. We're looking forward to the game and we want to reach the final."

With the Bundesliga title already wrapped up, Vincent Kompany once again named a heavily changed line-up, leaving seven starters from Tuesday's wild 5-4 loss at PSG on the bench, including Olise, Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich and Luis Diaz.

PSG were also held to a draw in their domestic league on Saturday as Luis Enrique similarly rang the changes to his starting XI ahead of the second leg.

Heidenheim started frantically at the Allianz Arena, needing a win to have any chance of beating the drop, pinning Bayern back with a series of corners and broke through after 22 minutes when Zivzivadze scored.

Dinkci added another nine minutes later, storming into the box and taking a touch on a Marnon Busch pass to round Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig and tap home.

Bayern were below their best but pulled a goal back before half-time. With dead-ball specialists Kimmich and Olise cooling their heels on the bench, Goretzka unleashed a dipping shot into the top right corner.

The goal was Goretzka's first from a free-kick since 2017 when he played for Schalke. Goretzka scored again from a corner to have Bayern level but Zivzivadze's goal with 14 minutes remaining put the visitors back in front.

Olise had the last word, however, his shot bouncing off the post and in off goalkeeper Diant Ramaj's back to make sure Bayern avoided a second league defeat of the season.

Elsewhere, Patrik Schick scored a hat-trick as Bayer Leverkusen cruised to a 4-1 home win over RB Leipzig to elbow their way back into the Champions League race.

Hoffenheim's 3-3 home draw with Stuttgart earlier on Saturday opened the door and Leverkusen dutifully obliged, climbing from sixth to fourth with two matchdays remaining.

Leverkusen, Stuttgart and Hoffenheim are all level on 58 points, with third-placed Leipzig four ahead.

Nathan Tella set up Schick's opener and then scored himself before the break. The creative Ibrahim Maza created another Schick goal before Leipzig's Christoph Baumgartner pulled one back with 10 minutes left.

Former Leipzig striker Schick scored again late on to complete his hat-trick.

Hoffenheim could have ended the weekend in fourth but gave away two late goals to draw at home against a 10-man Stuttgart.

Club record goalscorer Andrej Kramaric bagged a brace and the impressive Bazoumana Toure scored to have Hoffenheim leading 3-1.

Ermedin Demirovic joined Chris Fuehrich on the scoresheet to give Stuttgart hope before they lost captain Atakan Karazor to a red card for an ugly tackle on Fisnik Asllani.

Five minutes into stoppage time, Tiago Tomas scored to grab Stuttgart a share of the spoils.

Union Berlin fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home with Cologne and pick up coach Marie-Louise Eta's first point in charge of the club.

One-time Union forward Marius Buelter and Germany winger Said El Mala scored for the visitors, but Tom Rothe cut the deficit before Livan Burcu's 89th-minute goal levelled the scores.

Augsburg cruised to a 3-1 win at Werder Bremen, while Hamburg all but guaranteed top-division football next season with a 2-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt.
