Arsenal suspends 2 youth coaches after reported complaints of bullying
Arsenal has suspended Under-23 coaches Steve Gatting and Carl Laraman following reported complaints of bullying from within the club's youth squad.
"We have suspended two coaches and launched an investigation following complaints from some players," a spokesman for the club told the BBC.
"These are private matters and we will not discuss any further detail."
According to Sky Sports, neither Gatting nor Laraman were seen managing Arsenal's youth squad in Tuesday's loss to Porto in the Premier League International Cup final, with Under-18 coach Kwame Ampadu taking charge in their absence.
Gatting played for Arsenal from 1977-81, appearing in 76 matches for the Gunners. He joined the club's staff in 2007. Laraman serves as his assistant manager on the Under-23 side.
