De Gea's remarkable 11-save performance thwarts Tottenham
David De Gea stood on his head at Wembley.
The Manchester United goalkeeper made 11 saves on Sunday against Tottenham - all of them coming in the second half - to preserve a crucial 1-0 victory for the Red Devils.
The Spaniard's career-best performance in a top-flight contest came in 2017 when he turned aside 14 efforts from Arsenal. While it won't go down in his personal history book, De Gea's outing against Spurs was still nothing short of brilliant. He was almost solely responsible for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer maintaining his winning streak since taking over for Jose Mourinho.
Reactions from the online football community came pouring in with each stop from the elastic netminder:
David De Gea made 11 saves against Spurs, the most saves by a goalkeeper in a single Premier League game this season.

14 – The only top-flight league match in which David de Gea has made more saves than he did versus Tottenham Hotspur today (11) was against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on December 2nd 2017 (14). Hero. #TOTMUN pic.twitter.com/IbWzCVXAdd
