Report: Dybala-Lukaku deal off as United abandon negotiations

Manchester United ended negotiations with Paulo Dybala after the Juventus playmaker demanded an equal salary to the club's top earners, according to The Telegraph's James Ducker.

United reportedly had reservations about signing Dybala, who was offered to the Red Devils in exchange for Romelu Lukaku. Dybala apparently had little desire in joining the Premier League giants and would only consider moving if he received wages on par with Alexis Sanchez, David De Gea, and Paul Pogba.

It's now unlikely Lukaku will join Juventus, who could only make a deal work if Dybala headed the other way.

Lukaku had reportedly agreed to a contract with the Bianconeri worth around €9 million per season.

He's also drawn interest from Inter, whose manager, Antonio Conte, has long been interested in coaching the Belgian international.

United reportedly turned down a conditional €70-million bid from Inter earlier in the summer. It remains to be seen if the Nerazzurri will return with a higher offer. Inter are also trying to sell Mauro Icardi, which would provide the club with the funds to meet United's valuation of Lukaku.
