Ederson injury, Bravo red card force Walker in goal for Manchester City

There's nothing better than an outfield player being forced to go between the sticks.

That's exactly what happened Wednesday at the San Siro, as Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker was forced into emergency action for the latter stages of the 1-1 draw with Atalanta. Starting shot-stopper Ederson left the contest at halftime with a muscular injury, and his replacement, the much-maligned Claudio Bravo, was sent off in the 81st minute for a tackle on Josip Ilicic.

After a lengthy delay as Walker prepared to enter the match, he acquitted himself well, stopping the ensuing free-kick and making it to the final whistle without conceding. Incredibly, he made more saves than Bravo on the day.

After the match, Guardiola said Walker got the nod "because of his courage."

Maybe Ederson has some (real) competition for his place in the starting XI?
