United doctor: Rise in 'unusual complaints' from players in lockdown
Although the chances of a player tearing a muscle or breaking a bone away from the pitch are slim, some Manchester United players have dealt with different types of hazards during the coronavirus lockdown.
"Fortunately, most of the boys have been well and there's been no real issues at all," United team doctor Steve McNally said on the club's website.
"We're not getting injuries, fortunately, although there's been a few unusual complaints ... being bitten by the dog, that type of thing.
United players have been training at home for more than a month after the Premier League season was postponed in March.
Along with working out, those players have consulted with a nutritionist provided by the club - leading to some other issues.
"The nutritionist got the boys on an Instagram page looking at cooking lessons," McNally added. "So a lot of them have started to develop a new skill - and get injured in the process, one or two."
