Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi was arrested early Sunday morning, BBC Sport reports.
"Police and London ambulance service were called at 3:53 a.m. (local time) on Sunday, May 17 to a report of an unwell woman. She was taken to hospital," a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, according to the Guardian's Jacob Steinberg. "A man was arrested at the scene. He was released from custody and bailed. Inquiries continue."
The 19-year-old is to return to a police station in mid-June as part of the investigation.
Multiple reports suggest Hudson-Odoi was contravening coronavirus lockdown rules with the woman, Steinberg adds.
Chelsea have declined to comment on the matter.
Hudson-Odoi became the first known Premier League player to test positive for COVID-19 in March. Chelsea said he was "feeling fine and back to his usual self" near the end of his two-week isolation period.
