Solskjaer 'on the lookout' for more firepower despite United's dominance
Eight goals in two matches isn't enough for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
After Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford scored in Saturday's 5-2 trouncing of Bournemouth, Solskjaer said he's still seeking ways to boost his attack at Manchester United.
"Every day and every game and every session is a chance to improve," the United manager said, according to the Evening Standard's James Robson. "We have to improve the ones we have here. I think we've seen improvement from Mason, Martial, and Rashford, and they will keep on improving, but we will never stand still.
"We are always on the lookout if anything is possible. You can't think we have cracked it like Gary (Neville) mentioned last week. The emphasis is on improving the team all the time."
Martial and Rashford are both enjoying their best seasons, with 30 top-flight tallies between them, while Fernandes has racked up six goals and five assists over his first nine Premier League appearances for the club.
Greenwood is also drawing plaudits due to his accomplished finishing and versatility. The 18-year-old scored two goals during a weekend defeat of Bournemouth.
"... His general overall play is improving, his fitness is improving, his understanding of his position is improving more and more and I'm delighted with the goals. Right foot, left foot, now it's about getting headers in," Solskjaer said.
But Solskjaer wouldn't be drawn into comparing Greenwood to the likes of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"He knows exactly what to do with the ball when he's on the pitch. If he shoots, he will score. He is going to get better and his general play has improved," he continued. "I don't want to compare Mason to Wazza or Cristiano, I don't think that's fair.
"The boy will create his own career and he is doing it his own way. They've had fantastic careers, both of them, and I'm sure if Mason keeps on doing the right things, making good decisions, he will have a fantastic career as well."
