Report: Liverpool's Lovren nearing €12M move to Zenit
Dejan Lovren is set to leave England as a champion.
The Croatian defender is expected to depart Liverpool this summer as he nears a move to Russia to join Zenit St. Petersburg for €12 million (£10.9 million) after six years at Anfield, according to The Guardian's Andy Hunter and Jacob Steinberg.
Liverpool were prepared for his exit after signing Lovren to an extension until 2022 in order to shield his value on the transfer market.
Lovren, who appeared in 15 matches this season, prefers to move on in order to play regularly with another team, Hunter and Steinberg report.
The 31-year-old is fresh off helping Liverpool win their first-ever Premier League title, and he played a role in the club's journey to winning the Champions League last season.
He's appeared in 185 matches since joining the Reds from Southampton for £20 million in 2014.
