Chelsea are ready to cut their losses and move on from goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Blues will attempt to replace him by focusing on signing a new goalkeeper this summer once a deal to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen is completed, sources told ESPN FC's Mark Ogden.

Kepa became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he joined the Blues from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 for £71.6 million.

But Ogden reports that manager Frank Lampard has lost patience with the 27-year-old, who has posted the worst statistical record for any Chelsea 'keeper in the Premier League era by conceding 47 goals in 33 matches.

He'll equal the Premier League record for most goals conceded if he fails to keep a clean sheet in Chelsea's final match of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Lampard's doubts over Kepa, who was dropped and replaced by Willy Caballero for four matches in February, apparently date back to the first half of the season when the Spanish international struggled more frequently between the sticks, according to Ogden.

Chelsea have been linked to Manchester United's Dean Henderson, 23, who is on loan at Sheffield United, but Lampard will reportedly target a proven goalkeeper instead.

Any such move, however, will have to wait until Chelsea figure out a way to sign Havertz. The 21-year-old German attacker has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge that could cost the Premier League club as much as £90 million.
