Report: Joe Hart on verge of Tottenham move
Joe Hart is set to join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer following the expiration of his Burnley contract on June 30, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone.
Spurs are seeking a third goalkeeper for their senior ranks after Michel Vorm left the club at the end of his contract. Hart would compete with Paulo Gazzaniga to be deputy to Tottenham captain and first-choice 'keeper Hugo Lloris in north London.
Hart, 33, has suffered a considerable dip in fortunes since Pep Guardiola became Manchester City manager in 2016. He soon fell out of favor with the Spanish tactician and was loaned to Torino and West Ham United before he moved to Burnley on a permanent deal in August 2018.
He struggled to fight off competition from Tom Heaton and Nick Pope at Turf Moor, with his final league match for Burnley coming in a 5-1 home defeat to Everton on Dec. 26, 2018. Hart last played for England in a 0-0 friendly draw with Brazil in November 2017.
Hart could be Tottenham's second signing of the summer following last week's arrival of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
