Manchester United submitted a second offer potentially worth €50 million after add-ons for Inter Milan's Andre Onana, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils' initial approach was worth €45 million.

Inter would prefer a bid closer to €60 million for the goalkeeper, but the two clubs are expected to compromise on a fee somewhere in the middle, The Athletic's Laurie Whitwell and Mario Cortegana report.

United's latest offer comes amid continued uncertainty over David De Gea's future after his contract expired on June 30. Both sides agreed to a deal on a significantly lower salary than his previous weekly wage of £375,000, but the club backed out, The Athletic's Dan Sheldon and Guillermo Rai reported in June.

The Red Devils would still like to hold face-to-face contract discussions with De Gea, according to ESPN's Rob Dawson.

If a deal is struck for Onana, the path should be clear for Nottingham Forest to sign Dean Henderson permanently, Whitwell and Cortegana report. The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at the City Ground, is unlikely to be a part of United's preseason tour of the United States and is determined to play regular first-team football next season, according to Dawson.
