Report: Man City accept £30M Saudi offer for Mahrez
Manchester City need to start planning for life without Riyad Mahrez.
Manchester City have accepted an offer for Mahrez from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli worth around £30.4 million (€35 million), reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Mahrez is set to undergo a medical Thursday before finalizing a three-year contract, which includes an option for a fourth, according to Ornstein.
The Algerian international has already accepted an offer to play for the Saudi Pro League club for £25 million per year, The Athletic's Sam Lee reported on Monday.
Mahrez's departure won't come as a surprise to the club, as Manchester City have already drawn up a list of targets to replace him.
However, Manchester City aren't prepared to part with Bernardo Silva, who's also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia.
Manchester City will likely turn down a bid for Silva, who the club sees as a possible replacement to fill the void in midfield left by Ilkay Gundogan's departure to Barcelona, Lee reports.
Additionally, it's understood that Silva would prefer to continue playing in Europe despite being approached by Al-Hilal with a lucrative offer.
Both Mahrez and Silva played important roles in helping Manchester City win a historic treble last season.
