Report: Bayern likely to make 4th bid for Kane after Spurs reject €100M offer
Tottenham Hotspur turned down Bayern Munich's third offer for Harry Kane, sources told The Athletic's David Ornstein.
Bayern reportedly set a deadline of midnight Friday after tabling a package worth around €100 million (£86 million) for Tottenham's star striker. The north London club apparently waited until Monday to inform Bayern it wouldn't accept their latest bid.
Now Kane has set his own deadline for a transfer. The Telegraph's Matt Law and Jason Burt report that the 30-year-old will see out the season at Tottenham if Bayern can't agree to a deal by the end of the week.
Despite reports Bayern could abandon their pursuit, the German champions remain in talks with Spurs over a transfer fee, according to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg. Club officials were scheduled to meet Monday to discuss their transfer strategy, and another bid is reportedly likely to follow.
Tottenham reportedly rejected Bayern's previous offers of €70 million and €80 million in the hopes Kane would sign a new deal. His current contract expires in June 2024, allowing him to leave Spurs on a free transfer next summer.
All signs indicate Kane won't extend his stay in north London despite Tottenham's reported attempts to nearly double his weekly salary of £200,000.
Though the player appears ready to move on, he has continued to take part in Tottenham's preseason preparations. Kane traveled with the team on its tour of Australia and Asia and scored four goals in Sunday's 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
"We know there's one deadline, and that's the end of the transfer window," Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou said Sunday. "Beyond that, I'm in open dialogue with Harry and with the club on a regular basis. I've said to them that if the status quo changes then inform me ... I'm building a team here. I can't wait (around) for a decision either way to get going."
