Oxford stun Championship high-flyers Ipswich
Przemyslaw Placheta's superb winner gave Oxford a shock 2-1 victory over in-form Ipswich on Friday and their first win in six English Championship matches.
Victory saw Oxford climb out of the relegation zone and end fifth-placed Ipswich's run of three straight wins, with the visitors looking to make an immediate return to the Premier League following last season's relegation from the lucrative top flight.
Mark Harris fired the Us in front in the 28th minute with his first goal of the season, the Wales striker on target after Ipswich goalkeeper Christian Walton saved his initial shot.
Leif Davis equalised for Ipswich in the 53rd minute, volleying home unmarked from the edge of the area when Marcelino Nunez found him with a precise outswinging corner.
But substitute Placheta ensured the game turned Oxford's way once again when he broke clear on the right following Brian De Keersmaecker's long ball out of defence in the 77th minute, with the Pole cutting inside a defender before finishing expertly from 20 yards.
