Championship leaders Coventry rocked by Birmingham

Coventry's recent dip shows no signs of abating as the Championship leaders crashed to a 3-2 defeat against Birmingham on Sunday

Marvin Ducksch scored twice to help Birmingham end their seven-game winless streak at the expense of their local rivals.

Birmingham led three times but were pegged back twice by Frank Lampard's side, who have now won just twice in their last eight outings and had defender Bobby Thomas sent off in stoppage-time.

"We're disappointed to lose the game. I thought it was there for us. We conceded three goals which makes it very difficult to win," Lampard said.

"It wasn't a game where you felt a hot atmosphere and big pressure, it didn't feel like that. There was the opportunity for us to take control and we didn't."

Chasing promotion to the Premier League, Coventry are six points ahead of second-placed Middlesbrough, who ended a four-game goal drought with a 4-0 rout of Southampton at the Riverside Stadium.

Middlesbrough had dropped out of the automatic promotion places after failing to win any of their previous four matches, but they recaptured their spark to leave Southampton winless in six matches.

Caleb Taylor's stoppage-time header lifted Millwall into fifth place as they defeated Swansea 2-1 at The Den.

Ben Cabango equalised early in the second half to cancel out Mihailo Ivanovic's first half opener for the Lions.

Swansea goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux made a string of superb saves to keep his side in contention.

But Taylor's second goal of the season was enough to move Alex Neil's side to within three points of Middlesbrough.

Lewis Dobbin and Alfie Devine fired fourth-placed Preston to a 2-0 victory over fellow top-six contenders Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

Stoke, in eighth place, made it two successive away wins without conceding a goal as they beat struggling Norwich 2-0 at Carrow Road.
