Frank says struggling Spurs 'hurting' after loss vs. West Ham
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank said that the club's terrible run was "hurting so much" after they slumped to a 2-1 defeat against relegation-threatened West Ham on Saturday.
Spurs have won just two of their 11 Premier League matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season and are languishing in 14th spot in the table.
Fans turned on the beleaguered Frank and chanted "you're getting sacked in the morning" after Callum Wilson struck a stoppage-time winner for the Hammers.
Nuno Espirito Santo's team arrived in north London without a Premier League win since early November but held a deserved half-time lead thanks to Crysencio Summerville's 15th-minute opener.
Cristian Romero's bullet header offered hope for the hosts but Wilson bundled home from a corner in the third minute of stoppage-time to seal an eighth defeat for Spurs in 14 games in all competitions.
"It's tough to take, it hurts a lot," Frank told Sky Sports. "The boys put everything in, and that's a sign of a squad that is fighting, doing everything they can to try and win.
"It's fair to say, if there was to be a winner in the second half, then it should have been us.
"The way we came back into it, the same as at Bournemouth, both games we lost in the last minute. That makes it emotionally tough for the players, me, the club, the fans, everyone.
"We conceded on a deflected shot and a last-minute corner, which we should have done better with."
Spurs, who improved in the second half, paid for failing to capitalise fully on their pressure and the displeasure among the home fans was evident when the final whistle blew.
"It's tough times, the only thing we can do is move forward," said former Brentford boss Frank. "We have to go again."
"But we can only be disappointed and emotionally down for 24 hours, then we must go again on Tuesday."
Spurs host Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday before a visit to Burnley next weekend.
The club won the Europa League last season under former boss Ange Postecoglou but finished an embarrassing 17th in the league.
