Adam Lallana is slated to replace the injured Daniel Sturridge in the lineup when Liverpool takes on Aston Villa this weekend.
The Mirror's David Maddock reports Lallana and Mario Balotelli have spent the last week on the training ground getting accustomed to each other's style of play.
Sturridge suffered a thigh injury during the international break while with England.
Lallana joined Liverpool from Southampton for a £25 million fee this summer, but has yet to feature for the Reds after suffering a knee injury during the World Cup.
Maddock reports another potential replacement for Sturridge could be Lazar Marković, with Rodgers looking to retain his 4-3-3 formation.
