London, Dec 16, 2020 (AFP) - Norwich returned to the top of the Championship with a 2-1 victory at promotion rivals Reading on Wednesday.

Daniel Farke's side went ahead through Emiliano Buendia, only for Michael Olise to snatch an instant equaliser for Reading.

Finland striker Teemu Pukki took his tally for the season into double figures when he stroked home a penalty in the 55th minute.

Norwich's fourth successive victory sent them three points clear of second-placed Bournemouth as they look to bounce back following last season's relegation from the Premier League.

Adam Armstrong scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time as Blackburn came from behind to snatch a 2-1 win over Rotherham.

Blackburn fell behind in the 61st minute through Michael Smith's goal for Rotherham.

But Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott's second goal in as many games restored parity with 10 minutes to go and Armstrong bagged his 16th goal of the season in all competitions with seconds left.

Derby celebrated a first home victory in the Championship since June as they beat Swansea 2-0.

It was also the first time this season that Derby had scored twice in a game and stretched their unbeaten run to six matches since Wayne Rooney became interim manager.

Colin Kazim-Richards and Kamil Jozwiak grabbed the goals to boost third-bottom Derby's bid to avoid relegation.

Chuba Akpom ended a 13-match wait for a goal in a dramatic 1-0 win for Middlesbrough against Luton at the Riverside Stadium.

Luton's James Collins had a penalty equaliser ruled out when the officials spotted a double touch by the Republic of Ireland striker as he took the spot-kick.

Middlesbrough had Sam Morsy sent off in the penalty incident for handling Collins' initial strike.

Coventry were held to a goalless draw for the third time in five home games as they fought out a drab 0-0 stalemate with Huddersfield at St Andrew's.

Cardiff captain Sean Morrison secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Bournemouth with a 90th-minute header.
