Kompany: 'I expect us to score a goal' at Real Madrid
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany says "there are a million more disappointing results" than Tuesday's 0-0 home draw against Real Madrid, and he is confident that his side can trouble the scoresheet at the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday.

Many deemed the result a missed opportunity for City due to home advantage and the absences of Cristiano Ronaldo and, after half-time, Karim Benzema. Kompany is confident that its still in the tie, however, particularly after impressive away wins at Borussia Monchengladbach, Sevilla, and Dynamo Kyiv recorded in the competition.
"There are about a million more disappointing results. We have a really good away record in the Champions League: 0-0. If it was an away game for me (City), I would not feel comfortable; if you don't score then not conceding is always a good thing," Kompany said.
"In a wider perspective it is 180 minutes we are playing for this tie. I wouldn't expect us not to score for 180 minutes. If we can score at the Bernabeu I would be very surprised not to be playing for a place in the final until the end of the game."

City only mustered one shot on target against Real Madrid, with Sergio Aguero looking rather lonely up front for much of the evening, and Kevin De Bruyne toiling, but to little avail. Kompany maintains that the squad is still an attack-minded outfit under Manuel Pellegrini, though.
"We are still an offensive team. We are always looking to score goals. If we don't manage to score a goal (in Madrid), what claims can we make for going to the final? So I expect us to score a goal, and if we do the game is going to be really interesting."
City is likely to be without David Silva for the return leg after the Spaniard was forced to withdraw with a hamstring injury. This could mean a route into the starting XI for Raheem Sterling, Kelechi Iheanacho, or Yaya Toure, who is working his way back from a thigh issue.
