Harry Redknapp joins Central Coast Mariners as football consultant
English football's notorious wheeler-dealer Harry Redknapp is set to join the Australian A-League's Central Coast Mariners as a football consultant.
The former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur manager already holds a similar position at Derby County, but Mariners owner Mike Charlesworth announced Redknapp's arrival during the club's end-of-season dinner Friday.

'Arry recently spent a two-game jaunt in charge of the Jordanian national team in March, comfortably beating Bangladesh 8-0 before surrendering to Australia by a comprehensive 5-1 scoreline in Sydney.
The 69-year-old should be able to offer some considerable support to rookie English coach Tony Walmsley in New South Wales. Redknapp has nearly 1,500 matches manning the technical area in professional football, winning the FA Cup with Portsmouth in 2008.
The Mariners finished their A-League 2015-16 campaign rooted to the bottom of their domestic division with a mere 13 points from 27 outings.
