Twitter erupts as St Totteringham's Day comes to pass in humiliating fashion
Despite recording its best finish in the table in more than 25 years, Tottenham continues to play second fiddle to Arsenal in north London.
The team's Twitter account summed up its defeat to Newcastle perfectly Sunday after the team blew its chance to finish above Arsenal for the first time in more than 20 years:

Tottenham's devastating loss - which extended St Totteringham's Day for a 21st year - led to mass celebrations at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal supporters cheered louder for news of Spurs' demise than the four goals the Gunners put past Aston Villa.
That's the loudest cheer of the day so far - and it's because at St James' Park, Newcastle lead Tottenham 4-1 #AFCvAVFC

The pair of results inevitably led to an onslaught of taunts directed at Spurs, with players from the past and present getting in on the action as well:

Not sure the internet will be able to cope with the mass of Arsenal/Spurs memes heading its way.
