Bournemouth signs Adam Smith to new long-term contract

Adam Smith has committed his future to Bournemouth after agreeing to a new four-year contract with the south coast club. the team announced Friday.

The right back put pen to paper following an impressive season with the Cherries where he managed to score two goals during his 22 appearances in England's top flight.

Smith, who joined Bournemouth on a permanent basis from Tottenham in 2014, played an integral role in the team's inaugural Premier League season, with the team's chief executive Neill Blake confident the 25-year-old can continue to grow at the Vitality Stadium.

"It's great to be able to reward Adam with this new deal,” Blake said in a team statement.

"He has shown this year just how important he can be for us, and we believe there is still plenty more to come from him. I am sure he will continue to be a crucial part of our side as we begin to prepare for our second season in the Premier League."
