Celtic signs Moussa Dembele to 4-year deal
Teenage sensation Moussa Dembele shunned interest from the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham to join Brendan Rodgers' Celtic on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old French striker, who scored 17 goals for Fulham in the Championship last season, is now tied to Parkhead for the next four years.
Dembele becomes Rodgers' first signing of the summer and represents a coup in the face of tough competition from Premier League rivals. Both Chelsea and Tottenham reportedly tabbed Dembele as a potential recruit in April.
Celtic doesn't have to pay a transfer fee in the truest sense - Demebele's contract with Fulham has run out - but it owes the Cottagers around £500,000 in training fees in light of FIFA's transfer compensation system for players under 24.
Dembele left Paris Saint-Germain's youth academy as a 16-year-old and began to show his skills in England as a quick-trigger striker with loads of pace. He also has quite a chunk of first-team experience for a teenager, having played 64 times for Fulham.
