"The next Paul Scholes" is reportedly heading to Dean Court.
According to John Percy of The Telegraph, AFC Bournemouth is set to sign Leeds United's Lewis Cook in a transfer valued at around £6 million. A medical is apparently scheduled for Friday, while the deal is expected to be completed by Saturday.
At 19 years of age, Cook, a product of Leeds' academy, is regarded as one of English football's most promising youngsters and is dubbed as "the next Paul Scholes." It was reported last year that Manchester United was stepping up its interest in the teenager, who was also on the radars of giants such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
However, Cook was allegedly a "long-term target" for Eddie Howe, Bournemouth's manager, and talks with Leeds progressed over the last 72 hours.
Cook appeared in 43 of Leeds' 46 Championship fixtures last season, tallying one goal and two assists.
