Diafra Sakho would prefer a reunion with Sam Allardyce at Sunderland rather than transfers to a host of interested clubs, including West Bromwich Albion, Crystal Palace, and Watford.
The Sunderland Echo's Chris Young understands the West Ham United forward requested a transfer from Stratford last week, and that he's eyeing playing for the gaffer who signed him for the Irons from FC Metz in 2014.
Sunderland had a bid rejected last week, but it's believed West Ham's resolve will slacken if it manages to complete a move for a new striker, such as AC Milan's Carlos Bacca, who is valued at £25 million and apparently on Atletico Madrid's radar.
Allardyce is still making efforts to strengthen the Black Cats after they merely managed to paw away the threat of relegation last term. Efforts to bring in full-back Davide Santon fell short, and there has been concerning reports for fans that their boss could be lined up for the England job.
