Norwich City announced Wednesday the club has signed 19-year-old attacking midfielder Sergi Canos for a reported £2.5-million fee after the Barcelona youth product rejected a new deal at his last club, Liverpool.
Canos spent the majority of the 2015-16 campaign on loan with Brentford, making 39 appearances. He joins the Canaries on a four-year deal with an option for a fifth year in his contract.
"From the beginning, Norwich showed very good interest and showed that they believe in me," Canos said in a club statement. "I'm very excited to be here. Carrow Road impressed me, I've seen videos of it and it looks an amazing atmosphere and I can't wait to play there."
Norwich manager Alex Neil said of his new signing: "Sergi has a good background having been at Barcelona before moving to Liverpool at a young age.
"At Brentford last year he did really well. With Nathan Redmond leaving we wanted to replace him with someone exciting; someone who can dribble, can score goals and can provide assists.
"Hopefully Sergi can show everybody how good he can be."
