Report: Mahrez set to reject Leicester City's new contract offer
The reigning PFA Player of the Year reportedly wants out.
According to the Guardian's Ed Aarons, Riyad Mahrez is set to reject Leicester City's offer of a new contract after deciding to pursue a new challenge away from King Power Stadium. The Algerian attacking midfielder apparently held talks with the Foxes over a new deal in the region of £80,000 per week, but the 25-year-old is understood to have instructed his representatives to find him a new club.
On Thursday, Claudio Ranieri admitted that he was "very confident" of Mahrez staying at Leicester, saying: "He wants to stay here with us. He enjoys it, he is laughing. He is not a man who says, 'Oh coach, I want to go.' He is happy."

However, in June, Mahrez admitted that, despite being "happy" at Leicester, he was unsure of his future, telling Foot Mercato: "It's possible that I leave, and it's possible that I'll stay. We'll see."
Three years remain on the contract Mahrez signed last year, which is allegedly believed to be worth £35,000 per week.
