Sam Allardyce: 'I will do everything I can to help England do well'
Given the second most important job in England, Sam Allardyce promises to give the gig his all.
On Friday, in his first act as England's manager, Allardyce informed the Three Lions' players that it's time "to deliver," stressing the need to make supporters proud at an hour where English football is in a difficult situation following the national team's awful showing at Euro 2016.
Allardyce was appointed as England's manager on an initial two-year contract, bringing an end to his time at Sunderland, who appointed David Moyes as the successor to "Big Sam" on Saturday.

"I will do everything I can to help England do well and give our nation the success our fans deserve," Allardyce said, according to Louise Taylor of the Guardian. "Above all, we have to make the people and the whole country proud.
"While my main focus will be on the senior team and getting positive results, I want to add my influence to the great work being done across the development teams at St. George's Park. I know we have talented, committed players and it is time for us to deliver."
Reportedly the unanimous choice among the Football Association's panel that was responsible for selecting a manager, Allardyce was referred to as "the ideal candidate" and "the right man" by Martin Glenn, the FA's chief executive.
Allardyce's first competitive match as England's manager will go on Sept. 4, when the Three Lions visit Slovakia in 2018 World Cup qualifying.
