Ryan Sweeney is prepared to make the jump from League One to the Premier League.
On Thursday, Stoke City confirmed the Potters reached an agreement with AFC Wimbledon over the transfer of Ryan Sweeney. Neal Ardley, the Dons' manager, also announced the club accepted an offer, allowing the 19-year-old defender to engage in talks.
Stoke City is set to complete Sweeney's signing for a fee in the region of £250,000, as the teenage defender should join the Potters on Friday after a medical, according to Sky Sports. The Dons could allegedly earn almost £1 million if bonus clauses are met.
Sweeney, a product of Wimbledon's academy, made 10 appearances in League Two last season as the club achieved promotion to League One.
