Impending West Ham signings Ayew, Masuaku 'only a matter of paperwork'

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic confirmed Sunday that deals for Swansea City striker Andre Ayew and Olympiakos left-back Arthur Masuaku are close to completion.

"It's only a matter of paperwork. We are going to have two new players at West Ham," Bilic told reporters following a 3-2 loss to Juventus at the club's brand new Olympic Stadium.

The Swans reportedly accepted the Hammers' £20-million offer for the Ghanaian last week - the first positive development in Bilic's search for a goal-scorer this summer. West Ham had previously pursued Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette and AC Milan's Carlos Bacca, although negotiations for both reached dead ends.

Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin said Friday that talks over Ayew were still ongoing between the Wales outfit and east London side, but progress has apparently been made.

At the very least, Guidolin's lot will make a nice profit for the 26-year-old, who arrived at the Liberty Stadium last year on a free transfer.

West Ham could well go back in for Bacca after agreeing to terms with Milan in July, but the Colombia international isn't so convinced of a move. He's apparently waiting for a Champions League outfit to pick him up, and if one doesn't arrive, he has said he's perfectly happy to stay in Serie A.

There's also the matter of shipping out Diafra Sakho, whose £16-million transfer to West Brom fell apart just before the club's Chinese takeover.

Meanwhile, Masuaku is considered cover for injured left-back Aaron Cresswell, with the 26-year-old expected to miss four months of action because of knee ligament damage.
