David Moyes is reportedly on the verge of reuniting with two of his pupils from his days at Old Trafford.
According to Louise Taylor of the Guardian, Sunderland is closing in on Paddy McNair and Donald Love, as the Black Cats and Manchester United agreed to a joint fee for the duo that is believed to be in the region of £6 million. The two players are apparently expected to sign four-year contracts before the end of Wednesday should they pass medicals.
McNair, 21, is allegedly among the players pushed to United's fringes by Jose Mourinho. The young centre-back, who can also operate as a right-back, a wing-back, and a central midfielder, made eight Premier League appearances last season before representing Northern Ireland at Euro 2016.
Love, also 21, is another player who was unlikely to earn many minutes under Mourinho. The Scottish right-back spent part of last season on loan at Wigan Athletic and, coincidentally, made his senior debut for United at the Stadium of Light on Feb. 13, just before the day of love. The Red Devils lost the fixture 2-1 with the youngster playing more than half the match.
Moyes reportedly also wants to sign Phil Jagielka in another move that would bolster Sunderland's defence, but Everton is disinclined to lose its captain.
