Leicester City is interested in procuring the signature of Genoa winger Diego Laxalt, according to the player's agent, who says the Foxes aren't the only team pursuing his client.

Laxalt joined Genoa on a permanent transfer only a few weeks ago after spending the last 18 months on loan with the team from his parent club Internazionale. His agent, Vincenzo D'Ippolito, is fielding offers for the 23-year-old.

"Yes, there is interest from Leicester, but it is not the only English team to have requested information for him. There are at least two more," D'Ippolito told Il Secolo XIX, according to the Leicester Mercury.

Laxalt, a versatile left-footed winger and full-back, would likely replace Jeffrey Schlupp in Leicester's squad. Schlupp's been linked with a £12-million move to West Brom.

The 2015-16 Premier League winner has already splashed plenty of cash in the summer transfer window, bringing on Nampalys Mendy from OGC Nice for a reported £16-million fee - the same price the team reportedly paid CSKA Moscow for Ahmed Musa.

The Foxes also added Bartosz Kapustka from Cracovia for a reported £7.5 million.

Laxalt featured in 35 league matches last season for Genoa, scoring three goals and recording four assists. He's represented Uruguay at the Under-20 level.
