Chelsea keeps with tradition by loaning out 11 players on deadline day

On a day where much of the focus at Stamford Bridge centered around two expensive defensive arrivals, the Blues continued with their annual tradition of loaning out a small army of players.
Both David Luiz and Marcos Alonso joined the club Wednesday, but 11 others were sent out on loan, the hefty list ranging from promising youngsters to those who will almost certainly never don the all-blue kit of the west London side.

Among the loanees was American defender Matt Miazga, the 21-year-old who joined the Premier League giant in January from Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls.
Naturally, he was sent to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.

Other players who departed Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis include Christian Atsu (Newcastle), Lucas Piazon (Fulham), Jake Clarke-Salter, and Charlie Colkett (both at Bristol Rovers).
The most noteworthy departure saw Antonio Conte allow Juan Cuadrado to head back to Juventus, the Colombian winger putting pen to paper on a three-year loan deal with the Bianconeri.
Never change, Chelsea.
