Report: Tottenham eyeing approach for Real outcast Isco

Tottenham Hotspur apparently hopes to bring Real Madrid's Isco to White Hart Lane, maybe as soon as the January transfer window.

Spurs' interest in the midfielder still stands since the links during the summer, with a source confirming Mauricio Pochettino's outfit is still tracking the Spaniard, reports ESPN FC's Dan Kilpatrick.

It's believed that striking a loan deal in January, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer, would be a viable way to complete Isco's move from the Spanish capital to the English capital.

This comes despite his agent Paco Alarcon's assertion to Calciomercato.com that "we won't consider any offers until next summer," as translated by ESPN FC.

Pochettino appears well-stocked for options in attacking midfield, particularly after adding Georges-Kevin Nkoudou to the existing store of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela, and the in-form Heung-Min Son.

But given that Isco's made just one La Liga start this term, there is an opportunity to sign the 24-year-old that appears difficult to pass up. Before Zinedine Zidane took over Los Blancos in January 2014, Isco made the most of his more regular appearances for the club, and often rehashed the fine form he showcased during his Malaga days.

And the man himself is getting edgy on the Real substitutes' bench.

"If I've still only made a few appearances by the end of the season, I'll look elsewhere," he said last week.

"At 24 years of age, I have the right to better myself."
