Look: United leaves Schweinsteiger, FA Cup out of team photo

A month after allegedly writing him off as an asset, Manchester United appears to have hammered the final nail into the coffin after leaving Bastian Schweinsteiger out of the official team photo.

The German international was a glaring omission from the team photo as United players and the coaching staff gathered at Old Trafford for the annual portrait.

Schweinsteiger's days at Old Trafford have been numbered for some time after failing to appear in a single match since manager Jose Mourinho took charge last summer.

However, the 34-year-old was not the only exclusion.

Despite winning the FA Cup trophy to cap off the 2015-16 campaign, the team, instead, opted to flaunt one of the least cared about trophies in football: the Community Shield.

It was an oversight that triggered a response from the official Emirates FA Cup Twitter account:

Neighbours to the north were quick to show how much they appreciate their domestic cup, as Hibernian countered with its own team photo as the team proudly displayed the Scottish Cup - a title that had eluded the Edinburgh outfit for 114 years until its triumph over Rangers in May.
