Ndidi confirms Genk career is over ahead of reported Leicester transfer
Wilfred Ndidi is inching closer to finalising his reported move to Premier League champion Leicester City, confirming his time at Genk is over.
After being linked with the 20-year-old for several weeks heading into the winter transfer period, Leicester appears to be poised to complete a £15-million transfer that could eventually rise to £18 million in reported add-ons.
A work permit is apparently all that stands in the way of completing the transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian, as Ndidi said farewell to his Genk teammates after the team's 2-0 victory over Gent.
"I really want to thank Peter Maes," he said. "It is true that this was my last game for Genk. Whether I am now emotional? Quite a bit, yes. Especially because of the situation surrounding Maes. He has made me the player I am today. I owe my transfer to him."

The two squads have reportedly been negotiating a deal for the Nigerian since the end of November, with Ndidi completing a medical at Leicester later in December.
