Crouch agrees new contract with Stoke

Stoke City announced Monday the club has signed a new contract with veteran forward Peter Crouch, penning the former England international to a deal that runs until at least the summer of 2018.

Crouch, 35, was on a deal set to expire at the end of the 2016-17 Premier League season and has potted two goals in his last two appearances for Mark Hughes' side.

"I'm really pleased," Crouch said in a video posted to the club's official YouTube channel. "I didn't want to go anywhere. I was obviously a little bit frustrated not playing as many games as I'd like but that's changed recently. I've played a few and really enjoyed it.

"I know that I can still play in the Premier League and hopefully, thankfully, it'll be at Stoke City."

The angular Englishman has been a regular fixture in the English top flight since joining Tottenham in 1999, and has enjoyed stints at Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton, and Liverpool, with a few returns to old haunts in between.

He joined Stoke City in 2011 and has gone on to make over 180 appearances, scoring 49 goals for the Potters.
