Floundering Leicester sets unwanted record for scoring ineptitude

Leicester City set an unsavoury Premier League record with its 3-0 loss to Manchester United on Sunday.

Last year's league champion became the first club in Premier League history to fail to score in the opening five matches of a calendar year, and the first top flight team since Tottenham in 1986.

Leicester's path to the record started with a goalless loss against Middlesbrough before going on to lose its next three matches against Chelsea, Southampton, Burnley.

Sunday's loss also leaves Leicester as the only team in England's top four tiers to fail to score in 2017.

In contrast, Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic also set a Premier League record by becoming the oldest player (35 years, 125 days) to reach the 15-goal mark.
