NFL star Drew Brees offers support to Southampton ahead of EFL Cup final
Naturally, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is backing the Saints ahead of Sunday's EFL Cup final between Southampton and Manchester United.
The former Super Bowl champion offered his support to the English side that shares the same nickname, urging supporters of Southampton to get behind their team in the "David versus Goliath" contest as the club gets set to participate in its first League Cup final since 1979.
"This is to the Southampton Saints, coming from the New Orleans Saints quarterback here - we just want to let you know we are behind you," Brees said in a video message, courtesy of Sky Sports.

"This is a good, old-fashioned, David and Goliath story here," he said. Man U - they may think that they are the greatest, they may think they are going to win - but we believe in Saints. Let's go get it!"
Brees knows a thing or two about defying the odds. He helped the city of New Orleans rebound from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina by shifting some of the attention to the field of play before leading the Saints to their first-ever Super Bowl triumph at Super Bowl XLIV in 2010.
