Did Arsenal's website gaffe hint at Alexis Sanchez's exit?

The biggest hint of Alexis Sanchez's departure from Arsenal may not have come from a newspaper column, the player, or an interested party.

Instead, it could have come from the club itself.

On Wednesday, Arsenal offered fans the opportunity to pre-order the new home kit for the 2017-18 season, complete with their favourite player's name on the back. Confusingly - or perhaps tellingly - both Sanchez and Danny Welbeck were listed as wearing the coveted No. 7 shirt.

The error was quickly corrected, according to The Telegraph's Callum Davis, reuniting Welbeck with the No. 23 jersey as Sanchez kept his No. 7.

The back pages are rife with speculation that Sanchez is set for a big-money move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer, rather than seeing out the remaining year of his contract to play Europa League football. The most prominent clubs linked to the Chilean's name are Manchester City, which is overseen by his old Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, and Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich.

Sanchez, 28, joined Arsenal from Barcelona for £31.7 million in 2014, and enjoyed his most prolific season in 2016-17 by pairing 24 goals with 10 assists.
