Report: Manchester City to launch £60M bid to sign Arsenal's Sanchez
Manchester City has not given up hope on the possibility of convincing Arsenal to sell Alexis Sanchez.
Manager Pep Guardiola has instructed club officials to launch a £60-million bid to secure the transfer before the summer window closes, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.
The Spanish gaffer is said to be looking to add another forward to his ranks and is allegedly eager to reunite with Sanchez, whom he coached during their time together at Barcelona.
However, convincing Arsenal to part ways with arguably its top performer last term and to sell him to a Premier League rival could be a difficult task, especially considering Arsene Wenger's insistence that Sanchez will not be sold this summer.
The Arsenal manager is adamant that Sanchez will continue on at Arsenal despite the possibility of the Chilean leaving the club on a free transfer next summer, as he enters the 2017-18 season without a new contract.
But Guardiola is willing to test Wenger's stance on the matter with an offer that would double any sum that Arsenal has ever received in a transfer.

City is also reportedly willing to make the 28-year-old one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League with a contract that would pay him £400,000 a week.
After an extended summer holiday, Sanchez returned to training with his teammates but was unable to feature in Arsenal's opening match against Leicester City because of an abdominal issue, which could keep him out of action Saturday against Stoke City.
Paris Saint-Germain was also believed to be in pursuit of Sanchez, but speculation has died down in the time since Neymar joined the French side from Barcelona for a world-record fee.
