West Brom completes Gareth Barry signing
Gareth Barry is returning to the West Midlands.
On Tuesday, West Bromwich Albion completed its fourth signing of the summer transfer window, as Barry joined the Baggies on an initial one-year deal. The English midfielder turned down the chance to extend his stay at Everton and is arriving at The Hawthorns five appearances short of surpassing Ryan Giggs for most all-time appearances in the Premier League.
"I want to come and help the team," Barry said. "That's always been the same for me wherever I have played. I want to help the team improve, work hard and hopefully add quality."

Barry made 23 Premier League appearances in his fourth season at Everton, helping the Toffees achieve qualification to the Europa League. "I've had four great years at Everton," the product of Aston Villa declared. "The fans have been brilliant with me from the day I signed until the day I left. I'm proud that the club will always be a big part of my career.
"There are too many people to thank, but I'd like to mention a few of them - the chairman, Bill Kenwright, Roberto Martinez who brought me to Goodison, Ronald Koeman whom I've enjoyed working with, the staff at the club and some great teammates. And of course the fans. Look forward to seeing you all again."
West Brom's other signings in the transfer window are Jay Rodriguez, Ahmed Hegazi, and Yuning Zhang.
