Report: Nasri poised for Turkey move after failing to revive City career

Samir Nasri's increasingly difficult tenure at Manchester City is set to conclude with a transfer to Turkish Super Lig outfit Antalyaspor, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone.

The 30-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract with the club that employs Samuel Eto'o, Jeremy Menez, and ex-Tottenham Hotspur man Sandro.

The gifted French midfielder used to be a key part of City's furniture, regularly turning out in the successful Premier League campaigns of 2011-12 and 2013-14, but in the past two years he's appeared in just 13 league matches.

His career took a downturn when he dealt with lingering hamstring problems in the 2015-16 term, and his Manchester stay was compounded further when he reported to new manager Pep Guardiola's pre-season training camp carrying excess timber.

"Sami arrived a little bit overweight but he's much, much better now," Guardiola said in July 2016.

He was soon sent on a season-long loan to Sevilla, where he quickly shone under the watch of Jorge Sampaoli, only to falter a little as the campaign wore on. He also garnered unwanted attention in December, when he was investigated for doping after using an IV treatment from controversial firm Drip Doctors. To make matters worse, this was preceded with an extremely public social media row with his girlfriend, who accused him of sexual relations with the "Drip Doctor."

Nasri was present during Manchester City's pre-season programme this summer - appearing in friendlies against Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur - but saw 17-year-old Phil Foden picked ahead of him on the bench in the club's first match of the Premier League term at Brighton & Hove Albion.
