Tottenham beats Chelsea in race to sign Llorente from Swansea
Tottenham reinforced its attacking unit with the arrival of Fernando Llorente from Swansea City on Thursday.
Chelsea had reportedly been the favourite to sign the Spanish forward until Tottenham entered the frame and completed the transfer, reportedly worth £12 million.

Llorent completed the move when he put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him in north London until 2019.
"I think I can do more things in my career and my dream is to do that here," he said.
A move to Chelsea looked imminent with reports suggesting the two clubs were in advanced talks and that Llorente was eager to reunite with Blues boss Antonio Conte, whom he formerly played under during their time at Juventus.
But the situation took a turn Thursday when Tottenham allegedly submitted an offer that surpassed Chelsea's bid.
Llorente has yet to appear in a match thus far after suffering a broken arm during a summer holiday with his family. He is, however, closing in on a return after resuming training earlier this month.
The 32-year-old led all Swansea players with 15 goals during his first Premier League campaign.
It has been a great pleasure to play the last year with the Swans. You have been amazing, I've been very lucky to feel your support. THANKS. pic.twitter.com/hCYIFbCAD1

After announcing Llorente's departure, Swansea confirmed that forward Wilfried Bony will return to the club after signing a permanent two-year deal from Manchester City.
