Leicester City agrees to terms with Sporting CP for transfer of Adrien Silva
International clearance is all that separates Adrien Silva from Leicester City.
On Friday, Leicester confirmed that terms were agreed with Sporting Clube de Portugal for the transfer of Silva. According to BBC Sport's Tom Rostance, the transfer is valued at £22 million.
Leicester was granted a two-hour extension to get the deal done after the summer transfer window's deadline passed, reports the Press Association. The move apparently hinged on Danny Drinkwater's switch to Chelsea, and, while all the paperwork was submitted on time, the transfer requires international clearance to complete.
Silva, a product of Sporting CP's academy, tallied four goals and two assists in 27 Primeira Liga appearances last season and led the Leoes in won tackles.
Adrien Silva won more tackles (84) than any other Sporting CP player in the league last season.
