Christian Eriksen added to lengthy absentee list for APOEL trip
Mauricio Pochettino's squad for Tuesday's Champions League test at APOEL Nicosia was further depleted by news that Christian Eriksen will sit out the tie with an illness.
The 25-year-old, who is finally drawing deserved praise as one of the most talented members of the Premier League, has been added to a stacked list of Tottenham Hotspur players unavailable for the Cyprus excursion that already includes suspended pair Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen.
Midfield duo Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama are also out of the trip with respective ankle and knee injuries, joining long-term residents of the treatment room in Danny Rose and Erik Lamela.
🗣 Mauricio: "Of course we will miss the players who are not here, but it's about the collective and it's important to deal with it." #COYS pic.twitter.com/waFsaXSIgg

While the match in Nicosia should still yield a win - APOEL is currently positioned 11th in the Cypriot top tier - there is no news on whether Eriksen, Dembele, and Wanyama will be fit for the following tie at Huddersfield Town on Saturday. The newly promoted Terriers have started the Premier League campaign well, recording four clean sheets in their opening six matches.
