Salford goalkeeper shown red card after urinating on pitch

Max Crocombe's golden opportunity resulted in an early shower when the Salford City 'keeper was shown a red card for urinating on the pitch during Saturday's match against Bradford Park Avenue.

While those in attendance were left in the dark as to why the opposing team's 'keeper was sent off, Bradford Park Avenue didn't hesitate to disclose the exact reason for Crocombe's dismissal.

The National League North match only had a wee bit of time left when the match official caught wind that Crocombe relieved himself near a stand at Horsfall Stadium.

Crocombe was warned against the lewd act but the New Zealand native apparently couldn't control his bladder.

"He was told by the steward twice not to do it and he went ahead and had a pee," said Park Avenue secretary Colin Barker, according to The Telegraph's Daniel Zeqiri.

A fan also filed a formal complaint to police after witnessing the incident in the 86th minute.

The 24-year-old took to Twitter after his team's 2-1 win, insisting that the incident was an 'error in judgment" and promising that it won't happen again.
